Analysis of the Dynamic Relationships among Renewable Energy Consumption, Economic Growth, Financial Development, and Carbon Dioxide Emission in Five Sub-Saharan African Countries

نویسندگان

چکیده

This research investigates the relationships among renewable energy consumption, economic growth, and financial development in five sub-Saharan African nations utilizing panel data from 2000 to 2020. Econometric methods are used ascertain existence or absence of cross-sectional dependence short-run long-run connections between following factors: Pesaran (CD) cross-sectionally augmented IPS (CIPS) unit root tests, pooled mean group (PMG), dynamic ordinary least squares (DOLS) estimations. The presence is found represented with CIPS test. No significant relationship variables study, yet a present them. A positive exists CO2 emissions development, while consumption have negative emissions. study also supports scale effect environmental Kuznets curve hypothesis. Additionally, no causality variables, impulse response variance decomposition estimation carried out recommend future effects. Policy implications findings discussed, accompanying suggestions.

Examining the renewable energy consumption-economic growth nexus in sub-Saharan African countries

Given the role renewable energy is likely to play in the context of sustainable development, it is important to understand the relationship between renewable energy and economic growth. Therefore, this paper examines the relationship between renewable energy consumption and economic growth in a panel of sub-Saharan Africa countries from 1990-2011. Using a production function framework, the depe...

Evaluating the effects of energy and economic growth on Carbon dioxide emission (using spatial panel data)

Energy is one of the most important inputs in production. Energy usage and energy diffusion of fossil fuels in process of production cause greenhouse gases (CO2) emission and destruction of environment. According to the importance of issues like energy usage and economic growth, this paper, concerning the effects of proximity, evaluates the effects of energy usage and economic growth on emissio...

The Impact of Energy Consumption, Financial Development on Economic Growth, Based on Nonlinear and Asymmetric Approach

Investigating causal relations, symmetry and asymmetry leads to the correct understanding of policy makers for policy and planning purposes. Many studies have been conducted on the linear relationship between variables on the international level and in Iran, but these studies mainly focus on linear relationships. Since in Iran, the non-linear and asymmetric relationship between the energy consu...

Understanding the Causality between Carbon Dioxide Emission, Fossil Energy Consumption and Economic Growth in Developed Countries: An Empirical Study

Issues on climate change have been recognized as serious challenges for regional sustainable development both at a global and local level. Given the background that most of the artificial carbon emissions are resulted from the energy consumption sector and the energy is also the key element resource for economic development, this paper investigated the relationship between CO2 emission, fossil ...
